I earned my undergrad degree in Journalism from Ball State University in Muncie, Ind. As a student journalist, I served as features and news editor for the Daily News. During the summers, I wrote obituaries for the News-Sentinel, the evening paper in my hometown of Fort Wayne, Ind. Since then, I have contributed freelance writing to various publications, including Observer, Crain’s, Marie Claire, Huffington Post, Dame, Salon, Dance Teacher Magazine, Dance Magazine, and Next Avenue. I also enjoy poetry and have read my work on WNYC.

I have certificates in social media marketing and write health content. My Masters degree, from Lehman College in the Bronx, is in Health Education and Promotion.
